Some potential sellers might say, “We’re not planning on selling the property for months.” This can be a case of an overly cautious seller. Draw them out a little. “I hear you. Let me ask you this; if I meet a buyer who’s looking for property with the characteristics of your home, would you like me to show your house? And if that buyer was ready to make an offer, would you be willing to move sooner? If that’s the case, we should sign the contract now, and let me begin working to find that buyer for you.”
