You want your home to show well, but you’re a busy person! Here are some quick tricks to show your home off to the fullest advantage.

Clean up the clutter. The knickknacks around your home may hold great sentimental value for you, but they can make the home look crowded. Before showing your home, pare down these items to a few basic décor essentials, and pack the rest away.

 

Put excess items in storage. Put extra knickknacks, books, DVDs, and other items in storage before showing your home. Empty closets of all but the clothes worn in the current season, to make them appear more spacious. External storage is preferable to garage storage; you want the garage to appear spacious, too. Bonus: this also gives you a headstart on packing for the move!

Enhance the atmosphere of the home. Use an air neutralizing spray instead of strongly-odored freshener, wash the windows to let all the natural light in, and make the temperature of the house pleasant before a showing.

These simple steps will make your home feel welcoming and open, and ready for a potential buyer to move in.
