You don’t need large amounts of time and money to redecorate! Give your living space a makeover with a few simple tricks!
You can often find art at thrift stores; if you like the piece, keep it! If you don’t like the art itself, toss it and use the frame to give a poster a new look. If you like the art, but hate the frame, see if the store has another frame that catches your eye; buy both and use only the pieces you like.
See if the art departments of local schools have students who sell their work. Student work is not only cheaper than what you find in a gallery, you may just discover a hot new talent!
Check with paint stores and home improvement centers etc to see if they have large cans of paint that have been returned and are selling at a discount. It may take some searching to find colors and quantities that work for you, but it’s usually cheaper than having colors custom-mixed.
New curtains are a minimal cost item that can change the whole look of a room; consider getting them in a bright accent color if your room is painted in muted colors. You can buy curtains, or even make your own; most fabric stores have patterns for curtains, just look in the “Home Decor” section of the available pattern books.
I hope you’re having a great day – let me know if you need anything.
