You don’t have to spend a lot to make your home look like a million bucks! Focus your improvements on highly desirable areas to get the most bang for your buck.
Kitchen: The kitchen is the heart of a home, and buyers want to see a space that looks amazing. For a few dollars, you can install shiny new cabinet handles, which will brighten the room and make it look less used. For a bit more, you can install new lighting, or simply use brighter bulbs to make the kitchen glow. Finally, consider installing a new sink; this is an investment that can pay off by making the whole room look new.
Bathroom: One of the easiest upgrades to this space is simply a new toilet seat. Unless the entire toilet has cracks or staining, a new seat can make it look almost unused. Consider regrouting the tiles around your tub and/or shower to improve the look of the room. A new vinyl floor or new sink are larger investments, but can do a lot to attract potential buyers.
Carpet: Carpet is a major feature of any home. At minimum, hire a professional cleaning company to shampoo your carpets so they look as bright and clean as possible. If there are some significant stains, invest in some area rugs to cover them. However, don’t replace the carpet before you sell; new homeowners might want to do so with their own colors.
