We all know we should be more active, but who has the time? These tips can help you add more movement without wreaking havoc on your schedule!
Take the stairs. Yes, it’s common advice, but it’s still solid stuff. If you’re able, take the stairs instead of the elevator. This gets your heart rate up!
Walk to the store. If you live within a few blocks of your grocery store, start walking there. You can get inexpensive trolleys to help you get your purchases home. If you’re shopping for a family, get everyone involved! Make the walk a family event, and have everyone pitch in to get the items on your list.
Find a local park within walking distance. A weekend walk to a park can be the perfect prelude to relaxation. Bonus if your park has a duck pond! Bring a kite to fly, a book to read, or a camera to take some nature shots.
Experiment with taking the bus. Taking the bus not only encourages you to walk more, it will save you money on gas and cut down on pollution! This may not be an option for daily travel, but consider using it on weekends. (It’s also good to know your local bus system for times when your car breaks or you find yourself stranded.)
Have a good one and let me know if you need anything.
