Some prospective sellers may say, “I want the market to bounce back before I try to sell again.” This objection can be turned into an opportunity if you have the right approach. Tell the prospect, “I hear you, and I can understand your reasons for that decision. Can you tell me what your original motivation was for selling the property? You may sell for less right now, but you also have an advantage in this market. Buyers with cash are waiting to buy great properties at lower prices. Do you want to wait for everything to bounce back, sell your home for more, and buy your next property for even more money? Or do you want to sell for a little lower price right now and make it up on the purchasing side?” Remind the seller that, regardless of the market, you will be working to get the top sale price possible for the property.
