If you’re putting work into a garden, make it work for you! Herb gardens not only liven the look of a home garden, but they produce beautiful flavors you can use right away!

Basil is a fantastic choice for any herb garden: it is both hardy and easy to grow. It’s a staple herb used in many dishes, and it smells beautiful when it’s growing.

Chives produce a purple blossom, and are a lovely addition to any yard. You can chop the stems to add a light onion flavor to dishes, sprinkle them on baked potatoes for a hint of freshness, or add them to soups for a splash of color.

Fennel is a trendy herb, and has soft feathery sprouts, which can add a n alluring softness to any yard or garden. Fennel has a mild anise flavor, and most of the plant can be used in cooking.

Mint is a hardy plant that will grow almost untended; it’s perfect for the time-pressed gardener, as it requires little care and is very difficult to kill. You may want to grow this abundant herb in a pot, to keep it from spreading over the garden.

Rosemary is a pungent herb that goes well with many meals, and is a common complement to poultry. Rosemary is also popular in soaps and lotions; rubbing the leaves gently over your hands will leave them smelling fresh.

Have a wonderful day and please let me know if you need anything.
