If you’ve been in the selling profession any length of time, you remember how challenging your first few weeks were. You found out more about your product or service than you ever dreamed possible. You may have had no idea of how to sell, but you knew if you could talk with enough people who were interested in the product, sooner or later you’d bring back one of those papers with an order on it or move one of those products from your car, briefcase, or store into someone else’s hand. And, someone would pay you for doing so.
But finding just the right people isn’t always easy. That’s where are the art of prospecting comes in.
