We all want to take care of our planet, but sometimes it can seem like a real hassle when you’re on a busy schedule. Use these quick tricks to fight pollution and live green!
The easiest way to take care of the environment is simply to reduce the amount of waste products you use. Instead of buying and recycling plastic water bottles, get a sturdy bottle and fill it from a water filter. Try to buy items with the least amount of packaging possible.
Reuse items as often as possible. Paper and plastic bags can be reused many times before needing to be recycled. Use them for pet litterbox liners, or trash can liners. Use rechargeable batteries in electronics when possible; this not only saves waste from packaging and batteries, but it’s cheaper in the long run.
Buy recycled products. When you buy products made with recycled materials, you begin to close the recycling loop. This helps reduce the total amount of plastic, paper, and other products in the world, and use them more efficiently. Make sure to recycle again once you are done!
See if local art departments or elementary schools need things like paper towel rolls, empty cans, even old tires. Many artists work with “found objects,” and might find these things useful. Creating treasure out of trash is one of the best kinds of recycling!
Have a good one and let me know if you need anything.
