During these unprecedented times, we must have a renewed sense of purpose and resolve.  As we all work remotely from home and practice social-distancing, I am reminded that the great philosopher Albert Camus once said that our characters are shaped not by how we handle life when things are going well, but rather how we handle life during difficult times, as we have now.  

As we slide into recession, we are already receiving reports of buyers backing out of deals, escrows canceling, lenders rescinding loans, and sellers more distressed than ever.  And this is only the tip of the iceberg. 

Hopefully, we can all do what we can to help each other during these challenging times.  

In fact, at this difficult moment, life offers us both opportunity and challenge.  In every crisis lies opportunity.  So how are we going to handle this crisis?  Are we going to sit back in boredom, or will we rise to the challenge? 

This period is an extraordinary opportunity for you.  A once in a lifetime opportunity to strategize. To envision your life, your purpose, your real estate and/or investment goals, and your strategy to succeed in this new rapidly shifting environment.  

Because, I assure you, this will end.  Just like SARS, Ebola, MERS, H1N1, 9/11, and 2008, this WILL end!   And when this ends and we emerge on the other side, will you be proud of what you accomplished during this “down time” or complain about the boredom?

On another matter, if you’ve been paying attention, you’ll noticed that many groups are scheduling webinars or online Zoom seminars on every conceivable subject. 

What does all this really mean for your business? That really depends … on you.

You really do have control of your daily activities to focus on.

Remember, be sensitive and be gracious that is exactly why your scripts need to be adjusted, because the old scripts for 4 years ago for hard cold calling are not appropriate at all; and it is not in appropriate to talk to people at this time when you come from a position as a Wise Advisor, when you are offering helpful information and when you are not hard selling them a thing.
